Flowers of May is a botanical garden illustration inspired by the Show Gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, held in London each May. Geums, Alliums, Aquilegias, Salvia and Anchusas weave together in a colourful planting palette inspired by the beautiful combinations seen throughout the show gardens.

Like all my illustrations, Flowers of May began as a black-and-white line drawing. I then created the colour one layer at a time, building each plant and detail individually.
