RHS Wisley Garden

Client:

Royal Horticultural Society

Location:

RHS Wisley Garden, London

Project type:

Botanical Mural

Date: 2016/17

RHS Wisley Gardens is one of the world’s great gardens, packed with horticultural inspiration. I was commissioned by the RHS to create a botanical mural in the Glass House Cafe, illustrating health & wellbeing. All of the plants and flowers featured are edible and the insects can be found in the Wisley Gardens. Adjoining the glasshouse cafe is the soft play area, so with an audience of mainly under 5 yr olds there were lots of elements included in the mural to inspire and entertain the next generation.

The RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) has played a dominant part in my life growing up on an organic herb farm.  My parents exhibit at all the major RHS Flower Shows from 1993 to 2019. I spent most weekends working alongside them at the Flower shows. My upbringing around plants and my passion for drawing became naturally entwined. So this was a dream commission.
